OR115146 – Support and Protection Assistant Team Manager – Social Care Qualified

Work Pattern: 37 hours per week

PAYE Pay Rate: £31.50 per hour

Main Purpose

To support the Team Manager in leading and supervising Social Workers, ensuring high-quality safeguarding services and statutory duties are met.

Typical Day

Supervising Social Workers, reviewing cases, supporting safeguarding decisions, attending multi-agency meetings, monitoring performance and managing complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Social Workers, including NQSWs.

• Oversee caseloads and ensure statutory timescales are met.

• Manage a small caseload of complex cases.

• Support Child Protection, CIN and LAC work.

• Monitor team performance and promote best practice.

• Work closely with Police, Health, CAMHS and other professionals.

• Represent the Team Manager at meetings when required.

• Promote equality, fairness and dignity.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Experience in Children’s Social Care and safeguarding.

• Experience with Child Protection, CIN and/or LAC.

• Strong supervision, decision-making and risk assessment skills.

• Good communication and partnership-working skills.

• Ability to manage complex cases and competing priorities.
