Associate Portfolio Manager – Non Agency RMBS

Associate Portfolio Manager - Securitized Products (RMBS Focus)
A well-regarded, independent fixed income asset manager is hiring an Associate Portfolio Manager to support a team focused on non-agency residential mortgage credit.
In this role, you'll partner with senior PMs and analysts to help shape investment decisions across residential mortgage credit strategies, with genuine input into portfolio construction, risk management, and idea generation from day one.
Responsibilities:

Contribute trade ideas and help execute them across multiple fixed income portfolios
Work alongside PMs, analysts, and traders to identify and prioritize attractive risk-adjusted opportunities
Track portfolio risk positioning against target parameters
Build return and risk projections, including scenario and simulation analysis
Form and document views on relative value across the sector
Oversee trade execution from setup through post-trade review
Develop and maintain relationships with street-side trading and banking contacts
Work closely with research to translate fundamental analysis into portfolio action

Background needed:

Roughly 5-10 years in mortgage credit research, trading, or portfolio management
Solid handle on the residential mortgage credit space and the forces driving it (prepayment behavior, credit trends, rate sensitivity)
Strong quantitative toolkit - comfortable with duration, convexity, and credit risk modeling
Bachelor's degree; CFA or progress toward it a plus
Strong Excel skills; exposure to Bloomberg, Intex, or similar analytics tools helpful
