Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Hillfort Primary School are seeking to appoint a dynamic, caring, and committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant. Situated in Liskeard, a vibrant community setting, our school prides itself on providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where our youngest learners can thrive.We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our Year 1 team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our children through the crucial transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1, working closely with the class teacher to deliver small-group phonics, early literacy, and numeracy interventions. Candidates should hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and demonstrate proven experience in delivering targeted early reading support (Read Write Inc). A strong commitment to positive behaviour management, a confident understanding of continuous provision, and the ability to adapt activities flexibly to meet diverse learning needs—including children with SEND—are essential to ensuring every child thrives.
