Offshore Petroleum Assistant Technical Programme Lead - Mineral Resources

Starting Salary: Grade D £36,274–£41,668 / Grade C £43,141–£49,590 dependent on qualifications and experience. There is scope to progress within the grade.

The post is for a fixed term of up to four years in the first instance with the possibility of extension. Secondment and Interchange opportunities will be considered.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Falkland Islands Government has recently granted its first regulatory approval for a field development and production programme, which is expected to start producing oil in 2028. This is an unrivalled opportunity to make an impact as we start our journey as an oil-producing country.

THE ROLE

The Assistant Technical Programme Lead is responsible for supporting the Technical Programme Lead to manage and deliver the tactical and operational requirements of the Department of Mineral Resources across multiple offshore petroleum developments. This includes active management, planning, co-ordination and execution of technically complex projects and work packages to ensure alignment against wider delivery programmes.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Demonstrable experience (7+ years) in a project/programme delivery role which involves delivery of major projects or programmes. Experience of offshore petroleum projects would be advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience in the successful application of project and programme principles, governance and methodologies with an emphasis on delivering within programme, budget and scope.
• The ability to work successfully in a complex political and stakeholder environment and report/ engage at all levels.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to deliver effective presentations, write meaningful reports and engage proactively and constructively with diverse audiences, and to communicate confidently with all levels of stakeholders.
• A good knowledge and skills with MS Office including MS Project.
• A degree and a project or programme management qualification.
• A valid driving licence.
