Year 6 PPA Teacher

Zest Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity, working every Monday to provide PPA cover in a Year 6 class.

Starting as soon as possible, this ongoing role would suit a confident teacher who enjoys working with Upper Key Stage 2 pupils and can quickly establish positive relationships within the classroom.

About the Role

As the Year 6 PPA Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons every Monday while ensuring continuity of learning for pupils. The school is looking for a strong classroom practitioner who can maintain high expectations, support pupil progress, and create a positive learning environment.

Furthermore, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure a smooth transition between lessons and maintain consistency for pupils throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons to a Year 6 class each Monday.
• Create an engaging and purposeful learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Support pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
• Mark work and provide feedback where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Work collaboratively with the wider teaching team.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Upper KS2.
• Be confident managing a Year 6 classroom.
• Have strong behaviour management skills.
• Be organised, reliable, and professional.
• Deliver engaging lessons that inspire and motivate learners.
• Build positive relationships quickly with pupils and colleagues.
