Meter Reader - Tunbridge Wells

Location: Tunbridge Wells
Pay: £12.81+ per hour PAYE, depending on location

Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence essential

Our client is a leading provider of metering services within the UK energy retail sector and is currently looking for a Meter Reader to join their dedicated Metering team in Kent.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, being outdoors and meeting customers while managing their own daily workload.

The Role
As a Meter Reader, you will be responsible for visiting residential and commercial properties to accurately record meter readings for gas, electricity and water meters.

You will use a handheld device to manage appointments, plan efficient routes and record readings accurately. The role involves working outdoors and walking several miles each day, so youll need to be energetic, organised and comfortable working on your own.

Youll also play an important role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring customers are treated professionally during every visit.

Key Responsibilities
Visit customers properties to obtain accurate meter readings
Read and record gas, electricity and water meter data
Plan and manage your daily appointments and routes using a handheld device
Walk several miles throughout the working day
Work independently while managing your own workload and schedule
Provide a professional and friendly service to customers
Work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions
Ensure all information is recorded accurately and within required timescales

Self-motivated, energetic and reliable
Comfortable working outdoors and walking several miles each day
Customer-focused with excellent communication skills

Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence
Must live within one of the following postcode areas: TN1 - TN31
Able to complete the required screening and vetting process
Able to provide a full five-year employment history
Able to successfully pass a DBS check
