Teaching Assistant

Location: Bromsgrove

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people aged 11 to 19 who have autism, ADHD, and a range of additional learning differences. Many pupils may have experienced challenges within previous educational settings and require a therapeutic, structured, and supportive environment to help them re-engage with learning and achieve their potential. The successful Teaching Assistant will help create an inclusive and positive learning experience where every pupil feels safe, valued, and supported.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, and associated learning needs.
• Help implement individual education and support plans tailored to each pupil.
• Adapt classroom resources and activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
• Build positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and confidence.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social, and emotional regulation skills.
• Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to ensure pupils achieve the best possible outcomes academically and personally.

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs.
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn.
• The ability to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Motivation to succeed as a Teaching Assistant and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
