£15.46 per hour | Darwen | Tuesday-Friday | Immediate Start | Hearing Impairment Provision

Humly are recruiting for a strong SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a primary school in Darwen from as soon as possible. This role will primarily involve working within the school's hearing impairment provision, with some support also required within the mainstream setting. No BSL qualification or previous hearing impairment experience is required.

This SEN Learning Support Assistant role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or education professional who is confident supporting children with additional needs. The role is due to run until Christmas initially, with potential to continue further depending on the needs of the school.

Role Details

  • SEN Learning Support Assistant role in a Lower Darwen primary school

  • Working Tuesday-Friday

  • Part-time school-based role

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs across the school day

  • Primarily supporting pupils within the hearing impairment provision

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support where required

  • Supporting pupils to access classroom learning and activities

  • Providing additional support within the mainstream setting

  • Helping pupils stay focused, settled and engaged

  • Supporting daily routines and transitions

  • Encouraging confidence, communication and independence

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Working closely with teachers, support staff and the wider SEN team

  • Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

You'll Be a Good Fit If You...

  • Have previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar education role

  • Have experience supporting children with additional needs

  • Have experience working in a primary school setting

  • Are patient, caring and nurturing

  • Are confident providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils

  • Are reliable and consistent in your approach

  • Are willing to support pupils within a hearing impairment provision

  • Do not need a BSL qualification or previous hearing impairment experience

  • Can work effectively as part of a school and SEN team

  • Are available to work Tuesday-Friday

  • Can start as soon as possible
