In partnership with the Ryde Neighbourhood Board the Isle of Wight Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Programme Manager to commence and oversee delivery of the Board’s 10-year Vision for Ryde. This 3-year fixed term position is well suited to an individual who has gained significant direct experience managing multi-faceted work programmes across a range of sectors.
The Programme Manager will be part of a new, small team dedicated to the bedding-in and delivery of Ryde Neighbourhood Board’s 10-year Vision for the town. They will work directly to the Board with supervision from the Isle of Wight Council’s Regeneration team which, supports the work of the Community Services Directorate.
About the role
As Ryde Neighbourhood Board’s Programme Manager, you will work closely with the Chair of the Board as well as the Chairs of the Finance Committee and the Communication and Public Engagement Committee to ensure the smooth delivery of the Board’s 10-year Vision in accordance with the Government Pride in Place programme guidelines. The role requires a high level of independence, diplomacy, innovative thinking and problem solving and an individual who is exceptionally well organised, methodical and is able to represent the Board and Isle of Wight Council with government agencies, commercial partners and grassroots community stakeholders.
About Ryde Neighbourhood Board
Ryde has been selected to benefit from a grant of £19.5 million as part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme. It will be receiving the funds over the ten-year period 2026 -2036.
Ryde Neighbourhood Board has come together to guide how this funding is invested over the next decade. The Board is an independent, non-constituted body. It has listened to Ryde residents, local businesses, grassroots campaigners and community leaders to identify a new vision for the town. This vision is simple: a stronger, healthier, more confident Ryde shaped by the people who live here.
The Board have requested the Isle of Wight Council manage its day-to-day operation and help oversee delivery of its 10-year Vision.
