Role overview

To deliver service excellence though an efficient and cost-effective logistics department.

Responsibilities

• Comply fully with all applicable road transport legislation, company policies and procedures.
• Deliver and collect work between the Elis branch and customer premises safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Accurately record all customer deliveries and collections using the appropriate PDA or route manifest.
• Maintain the security and safety of Elis vehicles, company property and customer property.
• Ensure the safety of customers, colleagues and other third parties while operating an Elis vehicle.
• Follow all reasonable operating requirements and site-specific procedures while on customer premises.
• Understand and follow allocated delivery routes and scheduled customer requirements.
• Safely load and unload vehicle cages containing clean and soiled linen. Depending on the route, this may also include moving hamper bags to and from customer premises.
• Wear the correct, clean and presentable company uniform at all times.
• Communicate with customers in an honest, professional, polite and helpful manner.
• Complete daily and weekly vehicle safety checks, inspections and cleaning routines.
• Record and report customer queries accurately using the appropriate company documentation and systems.
• Comply with driver performance monitoring systems and related requirements.
• Attend daily driver debrief sessions and communicate customer updates, operational changes and potential added-value opportunities.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Logistics/Operations Manager or Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Hold an up-to-date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Hold an appropriate and valid driving licence.
• Have no more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
• Demonstrate a strong customer-service focus.
• Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Be confident making appropriate decisions independently.
• Be flexible and able to respond quickly to changing customer and business requirements.
• Have good PC and digital literacy.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, with a friendly and articulate manner.
• Be patient, polite, courteous and professional when dealing with customers and colleagues.
