About the role

Location: RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire
Sector: Aerospace & Defence
Clearance: Minimum UK SC Clearance required
Shifts: Standard 35 hours per week - Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:15 Friday 8:00-13:00
Pay: Up to £22.58 per hour Umbrella / £17.07 per hour PAYE

We are currently recruiting for a Material Inventory Controller to join a leading aerospace operation based at RAF Brize Norton.

Working as part of the Logistics and Warehouse team, you will play a key role in ensuring the right materials and components are available, handled and controlled correctly to support ongoing aircraft maintenance and flying programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in material support, warehouse operations, logistics or supply chain who is looking to develop their career within the aerospace and defence sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, movement, storage and issue of aircraft materials and components.
  • Process material orders and movements in line with operational priorities.
  • Ensure materials are unloaded, handled and stored in accordance with logistics and airworthiness requirements.
  • Complete accurate pick, pack and warehouse system transactions.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is correctly processed and linked to materials.
  • Record physical stock movements accurately within SAP.
  • Store materials in the correct locations following picking and packing activities.
  • Carry out stock checks and support inventory accuracy.
  • Support inbound, outbound and repair activities across the warehouse.
  • Assist with receiving and other warehouse functions as required.
  • Work collaboratively across different areas of the logistics operation.
  • Identify and report process errors or system issues to the relevant manager or team leader.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Assist with other reasonable warehouse and logistics duties when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within materials support, warehouse, logistics or supply chain.
  • Experience using warehouse management or information systems.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to working different shift patterns, including night shifts.
  • Forklift/reach truck experience or a current forklift licence would be advantageous.
  • A strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.
