Specialty Doctor — Care of the Elderly (Geriatric Medicine)
Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Specialty Doctor for the Care of the Elderly service within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a full-time locum assignment offering £60/hr assignment rate, running from October 2026 until February 2027.
About the Role
This post involves a full-time commitment to geriatric medicine with participation in a 1:9 full shift out-of-hours rota. The Trust requires doctors who can commit to working the on-call rota as an integral part of the role. Candidates must be qualified and experienced to a minimum of ST3 level.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist medical care for elderly patients across acute and ward settings
- Participate in a 1:9 full shift on-call rota
- Manage complex multi-morbidity, frailty assessments, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and social work
Requirements
- Minimum ST3-level experience in geriatric/general medicine
- Valid GMC registration with licence to practise
- Commitment to out-of-hours on-call participation
- Right to work in the UK
- Up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Minimum 2 professional references
- Fully compliant LD1 form and Belfast Trust framework compliance
- Encompass training required
