About the role
Zest Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis across a variety of primary schools in Burton upon Trent and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy the flexibility of supply work while gaining valuable experience across a range of school settings. You’ll have the chance to support pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 6, allowing you to broaden your experience and develop your skills within primary education.
About the Role
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support across different primary schools, helping pupils engage with learning and ensuring teachers can deliver high-quality lessons.
Some days you may be pre-booked in advance, while on other occasions schools may require support at short notice. Therefore, candidates should be willing to accept morning calls from 7:00am when not already booked for work.
This role is ideal for those seeking flexibility, whether you’re looking to work one day a week or several days each week. Furthermore, supply work offers an excellent pathway into long-term and permanent school positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Work with individual pupils, small groups, or whole classes.
- Assist children with varying abilities and additional needs.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Help maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines.
- Adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups.
- Support teachers with learning activities and classroom organisation.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

- Have experience working with children within a school, childcare, or educational setting.
