Internship Programme 2027 – Software Engineer (Java)

Spend 8–10 paid weeks developing your software engineering skills within Revolut’s global Technology team. You’ll work on real projects, write Java code and help build systems used across a financial platform serving more than 80 million customers. Alongside experienced engineers, you’ll gain exposure to APIs, microservices and large-scale financial systems while receiving regular feedback throughout the programme. Strong performers may also be considered for Revolut’s Graduate Programme the following year, providing a potential route from your internship into a longer-term technology career.

The Role

As a Java Engineering Intern, you’ll develop your technical skills while contributing to projects within Revolut’s Technology team. You’ll gain hands-on coding experience and work on systems that support different areas of the business.

Revolut’s technology stack includes Java 17/21, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, SparkJava, Spock and JOOQ, alongside a test-driven development approach.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Collaborating with engineers working across different technology stacks.
• Building APIs and developing microservices.
• Optimising systems used in areas such as risk management, fraud detection and payment processing.
• Contributing to new projects as well as improving existing systems.
• Sharing progress with global teams and learning from senior engineers.
• Managing tasks, monitoring progress and presenting project outcomes.
• Receiving regular feedback to support your development throughout the internship.

The programme lasts 8–10 weeks and is expected to begin in June or July 2027.

Requirements

• A predicted or achieved 2:1 degree classification, or equivalent.
• A portfolio of coding projects or open-source work.
• You must be in the penultimate year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or a similar subject, graduating in 2028.
• A strong problem-solving approach.
• A proactive, curious and results-focused attitude.
• Fluency in English.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Full-time availability during summer 2027.
• The ability to attend a Revolut office in your country of employment for at least three days per week.
