About the role
£35,000–£45,000 basic salary + commission | OTE £70,000–£80,000
Join an award-winning provider of skilled labour, professional recruitment and workforce solutions operating throughout the UK.
Established in the 1980s, the company has built an outstanding reputation for supporting some of the UK’s largest infrastructure contractors and nationally significant projects. Its comprehensive workforce offering includes blue- and white-collar recruitment, specialist M&E labour and innovative digital workforce-management tools.
Distinguished by its commitment to quality, compliance and integrity, the business operates across all major infrastructure sectors, including aviation, highways, nuclear, rail, tunnelling and utilities.
The Opportunity
The company is seeking an experienced Service Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of established client accounts across the construction and infrastructure sectors.
This is primarily an account-management, service-delivery and client-development role, rather than a traditional 360° recruitment position. Your focus will be on strengthening existing relationships, maintaining outstanding service standards and identifying opportunities to increase revenue across live and future projects.
You will develop a detailed understanding of each client’s organisation, project pipeline, workforce requirements and recruitment plans. The portfolio will have a particular focus on Trades and Labour and Demolition, with additional opportunities across Construction, Civil Engineering, Rail, Utilities and Logistics.
Working closely with the Business Development Manager, Recruitment Consultants, Resourcers and operational teams, you will ensure client requirements are understood, vacancies are delivered effectively and every opportunity to expand the relationship is identified.
Previous construction recruitment experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The principal requirement is a successful background in account management, client retention, service delivery and commercial account development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of established client accounts.
- Act as a principal point of contact for clients, project teams and senior stakeholders.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with key contacts and decision-makers.
- Develop a detailed understanding of clients’ projects, workforce requirements and future recruitment plans.
- Conduct regular client meetings, service reviews and account-development discussions.
- Maintain frequent contact with clients to monitor satisfaction and anticipate future requirements.
- Create and implement structured account-retention and growth plans.
- Identify opportunities to increase account spend and introduce additional recruitment and workforce services.
- Expand relationships across additional projects, departments, divisions and geographical locations.
- Work closely with recruitment, resourcing, compliance and operational teams to ensure vacancies are filled effectively.
- Monitor service delivery against agreed standards, timescales and client expectations.
- Coordinate responses to urgent or high-volume workforce requirements.
- Resolve service issues promptly, professionally and commercially.
- Support client presentations, tenders, proposals and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor account performance, revenue, sales pipelines and future opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasts, client records and account information.
- Represent the business at client meetings, project visits, networking events and industry forums.
- Achieve agreed account-retention, revenue and growth objectives.
About You
Applications are welcomed from experienced Account Managers, Key Account Managers and Service Account Managers who can demonstrate a successful record of retaining and growing commercially valuable client relationships.
You should have:
- Proven Account Management, Key Account Management or Service Account Management experience.

- The ability to build trusted relationships with operational contacts, senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify account-growth opportunities.
- Experience conducting client reviews and managing ongoing service delivery.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Confidence engaging with clients at different levels of seniority.
- A proactive, responsive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- The commercial drive to maximise revenue while maintaining outstanding service.
- The ability to work collaboratively with recruitment, resourcing and operational teams.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience within construction, infrastructure, recruitment, Trades and Labour or Demolition would be beneficial but is not essential. Applications are also encouraged from commercially successful Account Managers in other service-led sectors who can demonstrate transferable experience.
Salary and Benefits
- £35,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- OTE of £70,000–£80,000.
- Commission ranging from 5% to 12%.
- An established portfolio of client accounts.
- Support from dedicated business development, recruitment, resourcing and operational teams.
- Direct access to the senior leadership team.
- Genuine long-term career progression.
