Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Specialist Support Worker, you will provide tailored One to One guidance to students. Your core responsibilities include:

• Expert Guidance: Apply your in-depth knowledge of how SpLDs affect language and learning to support students in a Higher Education context.
• Strengths-Based Support: Identify individual student strengths and help them utilise these to overcome academic barriers.
• Strategy Development: Assist students in developing personalised strategies for organisation, time management, and academic success.
• Assistive Technology (AT): Provide guidance and support on utilising relevant assistive technology to enhance learning.

What We're Looking For

To excel in this specialist role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

• Qualifications: An Undergraduate Degree (Level 6) or PG qualification.
• Professional Membership: You must hold active membership with a relevant professional body (as listed in our standard compliance framework here). Ideally PATOSS, BDA or ADSHE memberships
• Expertise: Deep understanding of SpLDs and a commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality and boundaries.
• Skills: Strong organisational skills, reliability, and a passion for supporting students with disabilities.
