Project Systems Engineer - Laser Source

We are looking for a Weapon System Equipment Project Engineer to join a high-profile advanced technology programme, working on the development of a next-generation directed energy system.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with suppliers, managing technical interfaces and taking complex equipment through delivery, integration and test.

What you will be doing

• Managing technical and programme interfaces with external suppliers.
• Supporting the delivery and acceptance of complex equipment.
• Taking equipment through final assembly, integration and test.
• Supporting the functional integration of equipment into the wider system.
• Developing technical Statements of Work and supplier deliverables.
• Leading technical work packages and tracking progress, risks and delivery.
• Working closely with experienced Project Managers and technical stakeholders.
• Supporting the continued development and evolution of the system.

What we are looking for

You will ideally have experience of:

• Working with third-party suppliers on complex engineering projects.
• Developing technical Statements of Work and managing deliverables.
• Leading technical work packages within a project environment.
• Managing technical interfaces and stakeholder relationships.
• Balancing technical risks, programme requirements and delivery.
• Complex equipment or sub-system development, integration and test.
• Electro-optical-mechanical systems would be advantageous.

You do not need to have worked specifically on directed energy systems. We are looking for an experienced engineer who can take ownership, build strong relationships and make things happen.
