Fire & Security Projects Co-Ordinator / Junior Project Manager

Location: Office-based
Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established specialist in fire and security systems and is looking to appoint an experienced Projects Coordinator to support the successful delivery of projects from initial order through to completion and handover.

Working closely with the Projects Manager, you will coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standard.

This is a varied role combining project coordination, client management, technical support and commercial awareness, with regular involvement in site-based activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects from order through to completion and handover.

  • Attend sites to undertake surveys and support project delivery.

  • Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, materials and equipment.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams regarding programmes, scheduling and project requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, costs, budgets and commercial performance.

  • Assist with procurement, supplier and subcontractor management.

  • Attend client and project meetings and provide progress updates.

  • Ensure works are completed to specification, company standards and relevant regulations.

  • Support health & safety compliance across projects.

  • Coordinate testing, commissioning and client demonstrations.

  • Assist with the preparation of O&M manuals, as-built drawings and handover documentation.

  • Identify and resolve project issues, escalating where appropriate.

  • Support the Projects Manager with financial reporting and project forecasting.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have experience within the fire & security, electrical, construction or building services sector, with a good understanding of project delivery.

You will have:

  • Knowledge of fire and security systems.

  • Understanding of CCTV, Access Control and related security technologies.

  • Knowledge of fire and life-safety regulations.

  • Good commercial awareness.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.

  • A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
