About the role

General Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 2)

We are seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about children's academic achievement and has a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to raise attainment, support high-quality teaching and learning, and deliver targeted interventions that help pupils reach their full potential. They will be confident leading groups, modelling excellent learning behaviours and supporting pupils to develop independence and resilience.

Overview of the Role

Supporting teaching and learning across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly in English and Mathematics.

Leading small-group and whole-class learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.

Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality academic interventions to accelerate progress and close learning gaps.

Supporting pupils to develop their understanding of key curriculum concepts and deepen their subject knowledge.

Working with teachers to assess pupil understanding and adapt support to meet learning needs.

Preparing, organising and creating learning resources that enhance classroom provision.

Contributing to assessment, pupil progress discussions and the evaluation of intervention impact.

Promoting high expectations for learning, behaviour and presentation across the classroom.

Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to improve outcomes and ensure all pupils achieve their potential.

Have strong literacy and numeracy skills and a secure understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.

Are confident leading groups of pupils and delivering structured intervention programmes.
