A friendly mainstream primary school in the DN8 area is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 5.

You will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning and development, including providing targeted support to children who require additional help with specific areas of the curriculum.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils during whole-class and independent learning
• Delivering small-group activities and interventions
• Supporting literacy and numeracy development
• Helping pupils prepare for the transition towards secondary school
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• Providing additional support to pupils who need it

The school would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are confident supporting children across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

A positive attitude, reliability and a strong understanding of children’s needs are essential.
