About the role
A supportive school in Rugby now seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a full‑time role, Monday to Friday. You bring strong SEND experience and a calm, structured approach that helps pupils feel settled, understood and ready to learn. Moreover, you support the class teacher, guide pupils through daily tasks and maintain clear routines that promote consistency and positive behaviour. As the day progresses, you deliver targeted support, adapt activities and encourage independence across lessons and wider school life. Furthermore, you build positive relationships that strengthen engagement and help pupils feel confident in their progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide SEND classroom support across lessons and daily routines
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group activities that reinforce key skills
- Use clear routines to support regulation and reduce anxiety
- Adapt learning tasks for pupils needing additional guidance
- Support positive behaviour approaches through calm communication
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENCO to maintain consistent provision
- Encourage independence, resilience and steady progress throughout the school day
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with strong knowledge of additional needs
- Confidence supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
- Clear communication and a patient, supportive approach
- Ability to follow structured routines and adapt tasks when needed
- Full‑time availability, Monday to Friday
- Interest in Rugby‑based SEND roles
