Foodservice Field Sales Executive

FOODSERVICE FIELD SALES EXECUTIVE – BIRMINGHAM

£35,000 + Performance Bonus + Company Car | Field Based | Permanent

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Foodservice Field Sales Executive to join our well-established client based in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and commercially driven salesperson with experience within the foodservice, catering, hospitality or food wholesale market.

You will take ownership of a territory across Birmingham and the wider Midlands, identifying and winning new customers while developing existing accounts and increasing spend.

This is a genuine new-business-focused field sales role. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting out into the market, opening doors, meeting decision-makers and converting opportunities into long-term customers.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Foodservice Sales Executive, Field Sales Executive, Territory Sales Executive, Business Development Executive, Foodservice Account Manager or Business Development Manager.

Annual Salary of £35,000 

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Foodservice Field Sales Executive, you will need:

• Proven experience within field sales, business development or territory sales
• A strong track record of winning new business and opening new customer accounts
• Confident prospecting and lead-generation skills, including cold calling and face-to-face approaches
• Experience building and managing your own sales pipeline and territory
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage owners, managers, buyers and key decision-makers
• Excellent communication, negotiation and closing skills
• Commercial awareness with the ability to work towards sales, revenue and margin targets
• A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach
• Ability to work independently and plan customer visits effectively
• Comfortable spending the majority of your working week out in the field
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills

It would be advantageous if you have:

• Previous sales experience within foodservice, food wholesale, catering or hospitality
• Experience selling directly to foodservice end users
• An existing network of customers or industry contacts across Birmingham and the wider Midlands
• Experience selling into restaurants, takeaways, QSR operators, hotels, pubs, cafés, caterers, care homes or education
• Experience identifying and winning high-volume or multi-site accounts
• Knowledge of the Birmingham and Midlands foodservice market
• Experience growing spend and product penetration within existing accounts
• Previous experience working for a foodservice wholesaler, distributor or supplier
