Electrical Engineer
Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to develop your expertise on major infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced engineering professionals?
Were looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary design team delivering Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) solutions across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects. What youll be doing
- Supporting Senior and Principal Engineers in the delivery of high-quality EICA designs that meet programme, budget, quality and client requirements.
- Developing practical and innovative electrical engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design.
- Producing electrical calculations, drawings, schedules, specifications and technical reports throughout all project stages.
- Undertaking site visits and asset surveys to assess existing installations and identify design requirements.
- Preparing detailed design packages for construction, including MCC specifications, cable schedules, instrumentation schedules, telemetry schedules, loop diagrams and field interconnection drawings.
- Contributing to feasibility studies, inspections, project planning activities and contract documentation.
- Working closely with mechanical, civil and process engineers to deliver coordinated and buildable design solutions.
- Supporting tender submissions, bids and project proposals through the provision of technical input and engineering expertise.
- Assisting with project administration activities, including monitoring progress, outputs and delivery performance.
- Providing guidance and support to graduate engineers, apprentices and technicians within the team.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements, including CDM regulations and management system procedures.
- Supporting construction and commissioning activities by responding to technical queries and providing engineering assistance when required.
What were looking for
- Experience delivering electrical engineering designs within utilities, infrastructure, industrial or process engineering environments.
- Knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) systems and their application within operational facilities.
- Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations and associated plant equipment.
- Ability to undertake site surveys and translate asset information into practical engineering solutions.
- Experience producing electrical drawings, technical specifications and engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with cable sizing and electrical calculations using software such as Amtech.
- Good knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to engineering design.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Degree qualified, or working towards qualification, in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
