Teaching Assistant (KS2 & SEN Support) Rainford

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Rainford is looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 2 on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The role will involve working alongside the class teacher as well as providing additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities 

• Support pupils across KS2 with their daily learning and development
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
• Provide tailored support for children with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum effectively
• Assist with classroom management and the preparation of learning resources
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote an engaging learning environment
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents where appropriate

Ideal Candidate:

• Has previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Has a strong understanding of supporting pupils in Key Stage 2
• Has experience working with children with SEN
• Is patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of learners
• Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential
