Procurement Co-ordinator

Our client, a leading organisation is currently seeking a detail-focused and commercially aware Purchasing Coordinator to support procurement operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience in buying or supply chain to expand their skills in a collaborative and data-driven environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting purchasing decisions, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring goods and services are sourced cost-effectively and in line with business requirements. Advanced Excel skills and a strong eye for data analysis will be key to succeeding in this role.

Knowledge of Italian and/or German would be beneficial but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Coordination: Assist with identifying, evaluating, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials and services.
• Pricing & Agreement Negotiation: Support the negotiation of pricing and commercial terms to achieve best value without compromising on quality or service.
• Purchase Order Management: Process and track orders to ensure timely fulfilment, working in line with internal controls and budgetary limits.
• Data Handling & Analysis: Use Excel to evaluate supplier performance, analyse cost trends, and carry out price benchmarking to support improved buying decisions.
• Compliance & Policy Adherence: Ensure purchasing activities comply with relevant legislation, company standards, and ethical procurement practices.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activity, contract documentation, and spend analysis.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with finance, supply chain, production, and logistics teams to ensure alignment across purchasing and planning functions.
• Inventory Monitoring: Liaise with the planning function to help maintain balanced stock levels, avoiding shortages or excess.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience: 2–3 years in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including use of VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis functions)
  • Comfortable working with ERP or procurement software
• Personal Attributes:
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Accurate and methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical thinker, able to interpret procurement data to guide decisions
  • Confident negotiator with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Good understanding of procurement principles, industry best practice, and applicable regulations

Desirable Extras:

• Procurement-related qualifications (e.g. CIPS, CPSM)
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Language skills: Italian or German would be a plus
