Senoir Accountant

An established and friendly accountancy firm within close reach of Worksop, Retford, Chesterfied etc is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join its close-knit team. The firm can be particularly flexible on the level of hire and whether that is full time or part time hours in this permanent job.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an accountancy practice, ideally with experience managing a portfolio of clients. The firm is willing to consider candidates who are part-qualified, qualified by experience or at a different level, provided they have the right technical knowledge and approach.

The role can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis.

About the Senior Accountant Role:

Working as part of a small and supportive team, the successful Senior Accountant will take responsibility for a range of accounts and tax work while also providing guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the team.

The firm is looking for someone who can take ownership of client relationships, understand their wider business needs and provide commercially focused advice.

The role is highly flexible, with responsibilities tailored to the experience and strengths of the successful Senior Accountant, making it ideal for someone seeking greater autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Key responsibilities are likely to include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients
• Completing personal and corporation tax returns
• Managing and developing client relationships
• Providing clients with practical accounting and tax advice
• Identifying issues and opportunities within client businesses
• Developing a broader understanding of clients’ business strategy and objectives
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and more junior members of the team
• Reviewing work and providing guidance where appropriate
• Working across a range of accounting software and systems
