The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAMHS) to support a specialist service in Yorkshire and Humber.

This opportunity offers a locum contract from ASAP to 8 January 2027, providing structured and consistent work within a specialist CAMHS setting. It is well suited to experienced Consultant Psychiatrists with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry expertise who are confident managing complex mental health presentations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

You will be working alongside established multidisciplinary teams, supporting the delivery of specialist mental health services for children and young people while contributing to safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide Consultant-led psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents.
• Manage complex CAMHS caseloads and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Support day-to-day clinical service delivery within the multidisciplinary team.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and external agencies.
• Undertake risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes where required.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Provide specialist guidance and clinical leadership to the wider team.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and well-functioning clinical environment.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Consultant-level experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Previous CAMHS experience is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, leadership, and professionalism.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
• Section 12(2) Approval.
• Approved Clinician (AC) Status.
• Up-to-date DBS clearance.
• All relevant Statutory and Mandatory Training completed and in date in line with CSTF requirements.
