Our Client is looking to recruit a talented Building Services Engineer – Electrical to join their growing Built Environment Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking to develop their career while working on high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Building Services Engineer – Electrical, you will deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions across a range of multidisciplinary projects. You will support the design, development and delivery of electrical building services systems, ensuring solutions meet client requirements, industry standards and project objectives.

You will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients and contractors to deliver safe, compliant and innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs in line with client requirements, technical standards and industry best practice
• Prepare electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation
• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems and associated infrastructure
• Support the delivery of projects across Defence, Ministry of Justice, Education, Transport and Rail sectors
• Coordinate design information with other engineering disciplines to support integrated project delivery
• Undertake site surveys, inspections and technical assessments when required
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders throughout delivery
• Identify and manage engineering risks, ensuring compliance with health, safety and CDM requirements
• Support project delivery to meet quality, programme and budget objectives
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the engineering team

About You

• Experience working as an Electrical Building Services Engineer or similar role
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services design
• Experience designing electrical systems including lighting, power and associated infrastructure
• Ability to produce technical documentation, calculations and specifications
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery requirements
• Motivated to develop your technical skills and progress your engineering career

Qualifications & Experience

• HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and BIM methodologies
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant electrical industry standards
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and risk management principles
• Working towards, or holding, IEng or CEng status is desirable
• Membership of, or progression towards membership of, a relevant professional institution such as IET or CIBSE is advantageous
• Experience within Defence, Justice, Government, Rail, Transport or public sector environments would be beneficial
• Ability to obtain DBS clearance due to the nature of the projects
