Interim Transport Planner Required – 4 Weeks 

Transport Planner – Warrington, Cheshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our well‑established client based in Warrington, Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and benefits.

This position would suit applicants looking for a role as a Transport or Traffic planner. 

Trunking route planning only 

Shifts:

• Monday – Friday 
• 08:00 – 17:00

Rates of Pay: £17.00 per hour

Day‑to‑Day Duties:

Your duties as a Transport Planner will include:

• Coordinating driver start and finish times and ensuring all shifts are adequately covered
• Planning of the HGV C1 routes considering drivers hours/ tacho rules 
• Monitoring vehicle movements and updating systems with live information
• Managing route and load allocation in line with operational requirements
• Ensuring compliance with WTD, driver’s hours, and tachograph regulations
• Logging trailer numbers, vehicle defects, and reporting issues to the relevant teams
• Communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, planners, and management
• Handling PODs and delivery notes, ensuring all documentation is stored correctly

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Transport Planner, you will require:

• Experience working as a Transport Planner in a similar role
• Transport planning knowledge, UK road network 
• Strong customer service skills
• Good communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to work flexibly

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience within the transport industry

Training:

• Day 1 training completed with the Transport manager
