An established contractor is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a new-build housing project in Plymstock, Devon, with an immediate start available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a residential construction project, ensuring the works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the construction site.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, site operatives and trades.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and proactively address delays or issues.
• Carry out regular site inspections and ensure full compliance with health & safety requirements.
• Coordinate trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient site operations.
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and maintain all required site documentation.
• Manage materials, deliveries, plant and site logistics.
• Liaise with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised site.
• Manage snagging, quality control and handover activities.
• Ensure project targets, programme milestones and company standards are achieved.
• Provide regular updates on progress, labour, materials, quality and site issues.

Requirements

• SMSTS
• First Aid
• Proven experience working as a Site Manager.
• Strong experience within new-build residential/housing projects.
• Good understanding of construction programmes, health & safety and quality control.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades effectively.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to take responsibility for site delivery and resolve issues proactively.
• Immediate availability preferred.
