Electrical and Control System Design Engineer Opportunities – Warrington We’re looking for experienced Electrical and Control System Design Engineers to join projects in support of decommissioning activities. Based at Birchwood Park, Warrington, these positions offer either permanent employment or contract opportunities (inside IR35). This is a great fit for professionals with experience in electrical systems or programmable control systems who enjoy working within multidisciplinary teams. Client OverviewOur client is engaged in high-profile engineering projects within the nuclear sector, delivering safe and innovative solutions for complex environments. ResponsibilitiesDeliver, review, and check design packages to meet functional and safety requirementsDevelop electrical designs (including small power, lighting, earthing) or PES-based control system solutionsProduce engineering calculations, drawings, and associated technical documentationSupport construction, procurement, and commissioning phases where design input is requiredEnsure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulationsProvide guidance and mentoring to early-career engineersLead or coordinate design workstreams for senior rolesContribute to progress reporting and planning activitiesMust-have RequirementsHNC (minimum) in a relevant engineering disciplineIncorporated Engineer status (minimum)Proven experience in either:• Electrical design engineering (small power, lighting, earthing) OR• Programmable Electronic System (PES)-based control system designMinimum 3 years’ experience delivering multidisciplinary design projects from concept to handoverStrong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environmentAbility to provide design support during key project phasesAbility to gain SC level security clearanceNice-to-have SkillsExperience with Trimble ProDesign (Amtech) and DIALux evoKnowledge of process instrumentation and specialist radiometric instrumentsExperience in SCADA/PLC system design and network architectureBackground in leading design packages and mentoring engineersChartered Engineer status and/or degree-level qualificationBenefitsCompetitive package aligned with experience and engagement type, plus opportunity to work on technically challenging and innovative projects in a highly regulated industry.
