Morson Edge is looking for Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join an established aerospace manufacturing operation in Filton, supporting aircraft build and structural assembly on the A400M programme.

If you already have practical fitting, assembly or hands-on manufacturing experience, this is an opportunity to take those skills into aircraft production.

Previous aerospace experience is desirable, but not essential.

The Role

You’ll support A400M aircraft production, carrying out fitting and assembly activities using engineering instructions, drawings and approved production documentation.

Typical work includes drilling, shimming and sealing, using hand and power tools to assemble aircraft structures and components to defined aerospace quality standards.

You’ll work alongside an established production team while developing further experience within an aircraft manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fitting and assembly activities on aircraft structures and components
• Work from engineering instructions and production documentation
• Use hand and power tools
• Undertake drilling, shimming and sealing activities
• Work to defined production and quality standards
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and workplace organisation
• Work safely at height and within confined spaces where required
• Complete relevant role-specific requirements and undertake first-party certification where applicable
• Work independently and as part of the wider production team

Who We’re Looking For

We’re interested in people with practical experience from fitting, assembly, engineering or manufacturing environments.

• Assembly Fitter

• Production Fitter
• Manufacturing Operative
• Sheet Metal Worker
• Engineering Operative
• Aircraft Fitter / Technician

You’ll need previous hands-on fitting, assembly or comparable engineering/manufacturing experience, including practical experience using hand tools.

Previous aerospace experience, engineering drawing knowledge and experience with drilling, shimming, sealing or structural assembly would be advantageous, but aren’t stated as essential requirements.
