Help Young People Build Brighter Futures

Were looking for two compassionate and motivated Housing Support Workers to join a Young Peoples Service in Dorchester and Poole.

This rewarding role involves supporting young people to develop the confidence, skills, and resilience they need to live independently. You'll build positive relationships, provide practical and emotional support, and help young people achieve their personal goals while maintaining safe and stable accommodation.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Provide person-centred support to young people aged 16-25.
  • Help young people develop independent living skills, including budgeting, tenancy management, education, training, and employment.
  • Support young people to maintain safe and secure accommodation.
  • Develop and review support plans, setting achievable goals with each young person.
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Work in partnership with families, local authorities, education providers, health professionals, and other agencies.
  • Promote safeguarding, well being, equality, and inclusion at all times.
  • Encourage young people to build confidence, resilience, and independence.

About You

Were looking for someone who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people. You will have:

  • A caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to motivate and empower young people to reach their potential.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Experience in housing support, youth work, supported accommodation, social care, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young people and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes.
