Site Manager (temp to perm)

Role Overview

RG Set Square are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee and deliver a high-quality construction project, with a strong focus on heritage and refurbishment works. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing site operations within the construction build sector and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Delivery

• Manage all day-to-day site operations
• Ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specification
• Coordinate trades, labour, plant, and materials efficiently
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, motivate, and manage site teams to ensure productivity and high standards
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure performance meets contractual and quality expectations
• Foster a positive and safety-focused site culture

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
• Deliver and enforce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Maintain accurate records of safety procedures and compliance

Communication & Briefings

• Carry out toolbox talks, site inductions, and ongoing safety briefings
• Act as the main point of contact on site for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Ensure clear and effective communication across all project teams

Quality Control

• Maintain high-quality workmanship standards, particularly within sensitive heritage environments
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and conservation requirements
• Identify and rectify defects promptly

Subcontractor Management

• Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities
• Ensure subcontractors adhere to programme, quality, and safety standards
• Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance

Essential Requirements

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - Valid
• CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card
• First Aid at Work Certificate
• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction build sector
• Strong background in heritage and refurbishment projects
• Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience working on listed buildings or conservation projects
• Strong understanding of traditional building methods and materials
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
