Mechanical Fitter - Paisley

£34,000 per annum + £1200 per annum on call standby

call out rates - Time and a half Mon to Sat and Sunday & bank holidays double time

We are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to support the maintenance and operation of a commercial building in Paisley. This will be a 12 week temp contract moving on to permanent role after.

The position will be looking after inspection and repairs or mobile access platforms used for plane maintenance.

We are looking for someone who has completed a relevant Apprenticeship, and hold some commercial experience but does not need to have any aviation experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance - Carry out repairs, planned maintenance, and minor installations on mobile access platforms

• Fault diagnosis - Identify issues, complete remedial works, and ensure tasks meet contractual timescales.

• Pipework & filters - Experience desirable but not essential.

• Handheld technology - Use digital systems to record and complete tasks.

• Team support - Work with colleagues and support subcontractors on site.

• Documentation - Complete all work records accurately and on time.

• Customer relations - Maintain strong on‑site client relationships.

• Health & Safety - Work safely and follow all company procedures.

• Training - Participate in required training and development.

• On‑call & out‑of‑hours - Take part in the on‑call rota and occasional out‑of‑hours work (paid). One in 5 weeks.
