Highway Maintenace Operative

About the Opportunity:
Our client has recently secured a long-term contract to manage and maintain Kent highways infrastructure, and they're now looking to expand their team with skilled, dedicated operatives.

Whether you're experienced or looking to build your career in highways maintenance, full training and qualifications will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
You'll be part of a team that ensures the safety and upkeep of Surrey's roads, including tasks such as:

• Pothole patching and surface repairs
• Drainage maintenance and structural works
• Responsive repairs and reinstatement
• White works and verge management
• Use of machinery (e.g. pneumatic drills, tarmac rollers, compactors)
• Kerb, ironwork, and drainage installations
• Ensuring safe working around underground utilities

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in highways or similar maintenance work
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and repair techniques
• Relevant qualifications such as NRSWA Units 1-9, NHSS 12AB/12D (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence (essential); HGV Class 2 (beneficial)
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player
