The Role
We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join a large hospital site in Central London. This is a senior role, offering the opportunity to lead a small engineering team while maintaining, servicing, and overseeing mechanical building systems critical to hospital operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, safety, and compliance across heating, cooling, and mechanical systems, including experience with steam and BMS systems where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the hospital's internal engineering team
- Oversee reactive and planned maintenance of mechanical systems
- Fault find, diagnose, and repair heating, cooling, and associated plant systems
- Maintain high standards of compliance, safety, and record-keeping
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors and hospital staff for projects or maintenance works
- Ensure all team members are trained, competent, and operating efficiently

Requirements
- Mechanically apprenticeship trained or equivalent, with clearly evidencable qualifications
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role, ideally within a large, complex organisation
- Strong technical knowledge of heating and cooling systems
- Experience with steam systems and BMS advantageous
- Proven leadership experience of internal engineering teams
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
