About the role

As a Machine Shop Technician you will be required to: Operate a DRO/NC metal cutting machine, Vertical Milling machine and Hydraulic Press. Interpret design drawings and design dimensions, utilising strong mathematical skills. Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements. Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve/develop processes. Solve production problems and continuously improve in all areas of operation. Structure and prioritise work in a logical and orderly manner to achieve business & personal objectives. Work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures Ensure the accurate use of the Time & Attendance systems Respond professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never conceded. Be aware, and actively reduce the incident rate, of Non-Conforming errors within the team Create a “Clean-as-you-go” policy and maintains W.I.P. and stock areas Ensure plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects Willingness to be trained in other production areas Adhere to safety, health, environmental and quality policies and procedures Flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required Promote and adhere to the ‘Values in Action’.
