About the role

Senior Finance Analyst — The Flex The Flex is building the next generation of flexible accommodation. We operate and manage properties across multiple cities and countries, combining hospitality, technology and operations to make renting a home as simple and seamless as booking a hotel. As we continue to scale internationally, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Finance Analyst to join our team and help build the financial infrastructure behind a fast-growing global business. This is not a traditional accounting role. You will work closely with the founders and leadership team, own critical financial processes, analyse the performance of the business, and help us make better decisions as we scale. The Role As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will sit at the heart of The Flex's financial operations. Your mission is to ensure that we understand exactly where our money is coming from, where it is going, how every part of the business is performing, and where we can improve profitability. You will work across accounting, financial analysis, reporting, payments, budgeting and business performance. You will have visibility across the entire company and work directly with operations, revenue management, property teams and senior leadership. For someone ambitious, this role can evolve rapidly into a Finance Manager, Head of Finance or CFO-track position as the company grows. What You'll Do Own and improve our day-to-day financial reporting and controls, ensuring every figure presented to management is complete, validated and fully supported. Identify manual and repetitive finance processes, designing more efficient workflows and partnering with engineering teams to automate them. Reconcile payments from Airbnb, Booking.com , Expedia, direct bookings and other distribution channels, ensuring all expected payments are received accurately and on time. Reconcile bank accounts and incoming payments, ensuring all expected funds have been received, accurately recorded and any discrepancies are promptly resolved. Track accounts payable and accounts receivable. Review supplier invoices and company expenses. Manage statutory filings and corporate compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring all submissions are accurate and completed on time. Work with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors and banking partners to ensure accurate accounting records and timely compliance. Support landlord and property-owner financial statements where required. Build dashboards and reporting systems that give management real-time visibility into performance. Analyse financial performance by property, city, country and business unit. Build and maintain budgets, forecasts and financial models. Monitor cash flow and help management plan future capital requirements. Identify financial risks and potential revenue leakage. Analyse costs and identify opportunities to improve margins. Work with operations teams to understand and reduce property-level costs. Support financial due diligence for acquisitions, investments and new market launches. Present insights and recommendations directly to the founders and management team. What We're Looking For Highly analytical and comfortable working with numbers. Exceptional attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to accuracy. Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles. Comfortable working with large volumes of financial and operational data. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills. Strong reconciliation, financial control and problem-solving skills. Commercial mindset — you don't just report numbers; you understand what they mean for the business. High level of ownership and accountability. Comfortable working independently and figuring things out. Able to operate in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating directly with senior management. Passionate about technology, automation and AI, with a mindset for identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes. Ambitious and looking to take on significantly more responsibility over time. Experience in accounting, audit, investment banking, private equity, FP&A, consulting, hospitality, real estate or a high-growth startup is highly valued. A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related analytical field is preferred, but exceptional candidates from other backgrounds are encouraged to apply. What Success Looks Like Within your first 6–12 months, you will have: Built a strong understanding of the financial performance of every part of The Flex. Created reliable monthly management reporting across the business. Ensured payments from booking platforms and partners are accurately reconciled and all expected funds are received. Improved visibility into cash flow, profitability and unit economics. Identified meaningful opportunities to reduce costs and increase margins. Automated several…
