Credit Controller

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Credit Controller to join their busy finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience to continue developing their skills within a supportive and fast paced environment.

The Role

You will support the day to day running of the credit control function, helping to maintain healthy cash flow and ensuring customer accounts are kept accurate and up to date. The role involves regular contact with customers and close collaboration with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up new customer accounts and maintaining accurate account records
• Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices, using both telephone and written communication
• Monitor overdue balances and support the reduction of aged debt
• Work with internal departments to investigate and resolve invoice queries
• Support the arrangement and monitoring of payment plans where required
• Escalate complex or long standing issues to senior team members when necessary
• Assist with account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Follow internal processes and contribute to the smooth running of the function
• Organise workload effectively and adapt to changing priorities

About You

• A minimum of 3 years experience within credit control or a similar role
• MICM qualification preferred but not essential
• Confident and professional communication skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using finance systems
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
