Compensation: The compensation range for this position is between $125k-$170k in the US and £95k-£150k in the UK depending on location and experience. Overview Nexcess delivers high-performance managed hosting solutions for ecommerce and web professionals, including Managed Magento, Managed Shopware, and InterWorx. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager - Digital Software to lead product strategy, prioritization, roadmaps, and execution across these products. The role translates client needs, market insights, technical considerations, and business priorities into clear product direction and measurable outcomes. The Senior Product Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership, leveraging strong technical knowledge to guide product decisions and improve client and business outcomes. The role will influence areas such as adoption, conversion, retention, pricing, packaging, and margin within established decision-making processes. The role partners closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Design, Marketing, Sales, Client Success, Support, Finance, and executive leadership to drive alignment and advance product priorities. Responsibilities Product Strategy and Ownership Develop and maintain product strategy for Managed Magento, Managed Shopware, and InterWorx based on client needs, market opportunities, competitive intelligence, technical considerations, and company priorities. Define target client segments, client needs, value propositions, positioning, and strategic product priorities. Develop and maintain product roadmaps that identify strategic priorities, key investments, trade-offs, dependencies, and expected outcomes. Recommend product priorities and investment decisions based on client value, business opportunity, technical feasibility, operational considerations, and available resources. Lead product decisions within the role's delegated authority and recommend decisions requiring approval from product leadership or other appropriate stakeholders. Guide decisions related to plan structure, service tiers, add-ons, upgrade paths, licensing, and the end-to-end client experience. Maintain a clear and defensible position on product differentiation, including the distinct client needs served by Magento and Shopware and the competitive position of InterWorx. Manage product lifecycle activities, including supported software versions, end-of-life planning, deprecations, upgrade programs, and client migration paths. Technical Product Leadership Develop and maintain a working understanding of the technical components that influence ecommerce performance and reliability, including Varnish, Redis, Valkey, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, PHP-FPM, MySQL or MariaDB, Nginx, object and full-page caching, message queues, and cron and queue workers. Translate technical capabilities, constraints, and requirements into clear product requirements and decisions. Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to evaluate technical feasibility, architecture considerations, capacity requirements, performance, security, reliability, and operational risk. Inform product decisions regarding default configurations, resource sizing, plan limits, supported versions, and the boundaries of services included in managed offerings. Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders, connecting platform architecture to client outcomes such as storefront performance, checkout reliability, stability under load, and overall user experience. Monitor upstream product and technology roadmaps from Adobe, Shopware, and relevant open-source projects and assess potential impacts on product strategy, client commitments, support requirements, and operating costs. Partner with technical teams to identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, scalability, and client experience. InterWorx Product Leadership Lead product strategy and roadmap planning for InterWorx as both an internal platform component and a commercially licensed product. Maintain an informed view of the hosting control panel market, including licensing models, competitive positioning, and the needs of hosting providers, resellers, agencies, and system administrators. Evaluate and recommend investment priorities between internal platform requirements and the needs of external licensees. Partner with relevant teams to support the technical evaluation, onboarding, adoption, and retention of control panel clients and partners. Monitor market and client feedback to identify opportunities to improve InterWorx capabilities, positioning, and commercial performance. Product and Business Performance Lead product strategy and planning in support of agreed client and business outcomes. Use client, market, operational, and financial data to inform recommendations related to pricing, packaging, adoption, attach rate, conversion, retention, expansion, and margin.
