About the role
REC2 Recruitment is partnering with a high-growth London healthtech company seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Lead or Internal Recruiter to take ownership of its recruitment function.
This is a permanent, long-term appointment at the heart of the company’s growth strategy. The initial priority will be to manage a live pipeline of software engineering and operational vacancies while supporting plans to grow its 15-person Software Engineering team during the company’s next phase of development.
The company’s engineers work across a modern technology environment that includes TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js and AWS.
Beyond the immediate hiring programme, you will recruit across software engineering, product, clinical, customer operations and commercial functions, while building and continually developing a scalable talent function capable of supporting the company’s ongoing UK and international growth.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can identify and engage exceptional candidates, manage multiple recruitment processes and thrive within a high-performance technology start-up environment.
The Role
You will manage the complete recruitment lifecycle, from market mapping and direct sourcing through to interview management, offer negotiation and onboarding.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied pipeline of software engineering, product, clinical, customer operations and commercial vacancies.
- Supporting the continued expansion of the Software Engineering team.
- Directly sourcing and approaching high-quality passive candidates.
- Developing talent pipelines across the UK and potentially the US.
- Working closely with founders and hiring managers to define recruitment requirements.
- Managing candidate progression and maintaining momentum throughout the interview process.
- Improving the company’s ATS, interview stages, scorecards and recruitment reporting.
- Using recruitment data to evaluate sourcing channels and hiring performance.
- Developing employee referral and external talent-partner networks.
- Supporting hackathons, meetups and other events designed to attract exceptional software engineering talent.
- Strengthening the company’s employer brand and candidate experience.
- Building a scalable recruitment function capable of supporting long-term growth.
Ideal Background
The preferred candidate will have worked within a recruitment agency before progressing into an internal talent role with a technology start-up or scale-up.
Applications are also welcomed from high-performing agency technology recruiters who can demonstrate the ability to move into a broad internal recruitment position.
You should have:
- Experience recruiting full-stack software engineers, ideally across TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js and AWS environments.
- Strong direct sourcing, headhunting and candidate-engagement skills.
- The ability to manage several recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Experience working closely with senior hiring managers, founders or business leaders.
- A good understanding of structured interviews, scorecards and recruitment analytics.
- The confidence to operate independently and take ownership of hiring outcomes.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Resilience, commercial awareness and the ability to respond positively to constructive feedback.
This is a high-performance environment and is unlikely to suit someone seeking a conventional nine-to-five role. It offers considerable responsibility, autonomy and earning potential to someone motivated by ambitious hiring targets.
Salary and Benefits
- £70,000–£90,000 basic salary.
- Performance-related bonus offering potential total earnings of approximately £140,000–£180,000.
- Meaningful company equity.
- 25 days’ annual leave plus UK public holidays.
- Private medical, dental, vision and mental-health cover.
- Employer pension contribution.
- £1,000 annual learning and development budget.
- Wellness contribution.
- Enhanced parental leave.
- High-spec MacBook and home-office equipment.
- Co-working allowance where applicable.
- Regular company offsites and regional events.
- UK visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates.
The company operates a hybrid working model, with employees expected to spend at least two days each week at its modern Farringdon office.
This vacancy is for a permanent, full-time role based in the UK. Applicants must have independent legal authorisation to live and work in the UK.
