Delivery Manager

Delivery Manager - Commerce Domain | 5-month contract | Outside IR35

We're looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to support a fully mobilised squad within our client's Commerce domain. The wider domain currently runs across four squads, so you'll need to be comfortable operating across multiple teams and keeping delivery quality high.

This is a strong delivery/ways-of-working role for someone methodical, outcomes-driven, and able to clearly explain the "why" behind decisions.

Role overview

• Delivery Manager required through to February 2027 (initial 5-month contract, with strong likelihood of extension / movement onto future projects).
• You'll sit within the Commerce domain, supporting delivery across multiple squads as needed.
• Current squad is fully mobilised and includes Product Owners, Business Analysts and Architects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive high-quality delivery across one or more squads within the Commerce domain.
• Own and manage delivery plans, dependencies, risks, and delivery cadence across teams.
• Provide clear rationale for delivery decisions and be confident challenging constructively when needed.
• Ensure delivery is methodical and predictable, with strong governance and visibility.
• Support cross-squad ways of working and collaboration (POs, BAs, Architects, engineering and wider stakeholders).
• Help shape and mobilise future projects as they come online (with scope to extend or move across workstreams).

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Delivery Manager in a tech/product environment (commerce/ecommerce/retail experience is helpful but not essential if you've delivered similar platform/product work).
• Strong focus on quality delivery, structure, and follow-through.
• Methodical approach with clear decision-making and the ability to articulate trade-offs.
• Comfortable working across multiple squads and navigating dependencies.
• Confident stakeholder management and ability to bring clarity in fast-moving environments.

Contract details

• Contract length: 5 months initially (extension likely; role required through to Feb 2027)
• Rate: £600-£700/day
• IR35: Outside IR35
• Location: Fareham - on-site 2x per month (or more, depending on value added)
