About the role
Duration: 6 months
Location: Sunderland, 3 days per week onsite (days may vary each week)
Basis: Inside IR35
Rate: DOE
Are you a Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer with a background delivering cloud and data centre migrations, whilst securing identified vulnerabilities? Do you have strong hands-on skills with Azure, Windows Server and IaC (Terraform, ARM, PowerShell)? If so, please apply now.
The Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer will join a dynamic team at a time of major modernisation and transformation, with responsibility for providing hands-on technical support to drive the cloud and data centre migration activities.
This will include:
Supporting migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Azure, assisting with planning, build, testing and production cutover activities
Support landing zone, networking and infrastructure configuration
Assist with application and server migration activities
Support supplier engagement and technical validation activities
Review and remediation of high-priority vulnerabilities identified through pen testing activity
Implement remediation activities across server and infrastructure platforms
Validate controls through testing and evidence collection
The successful Data Centre Engineer / Platform Engineer will have the following skills:
Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring)
Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, ARM, PowerShell automation
Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy
Backup and restore Solutions e.g. Veeam, CommVault
SQL Server, Azure SQL, backups, HA/DR
Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, SolarWinds
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will initially join for a period of 6 months to actively participate in the cloud and data centre migration activity, and there is the possibility of extension.
