About the role

Job summary

The Ministry of Defence, Civil Service workforce is diverse, with many different functions and professions ranging from police officers, security guards, trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, Cyber & Digital Transformation, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff to support the British Army.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

We are looking for someone that has strong customer service skills along with basic digital literacy. They will demonstrate the ability to react quickly and positively to change and will understand the importance of following manual handling regulations.
A great teammate, you will be able to work closely with their civilian and military colleagues, as well as managing their own time effectively.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Receive unserviceable equipment and process for replacement of repair in accordance with Service regulations to keep all assets operationally fit and equipment holdings complete to equipment schedule.

Main Role Responsibilites:

  • Assist in the management of the day to day running of the store.
  • Issuing and receipting equipment to personnel.
  • Ensuring all equipment is clean and serviceable.
  • Maintaining documentation for stores accounting and auditing.
  • Assisting the Duty Officer with daily and weekly checks.
  • To ensure compliance with all external regulations regarding SHEF at Work, environmental issues and compliance with current national and MoD regulations affecting the working practices and disposal of commodities within the logistics environment.
  • Responsible for the demand, receipts, and issue of squadron equipment (including clothing, unit spares, expense stores, fuel and lubricants using MOD accounting/stores computer system as directed.
  • Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and maintain a register for electrical equipment held on account.
