The Programme

We are currently supporting workforce planning for an anticipated Echocardiography Insourcing Programme, designed to increase diagnostic cardiology capacity within established NHS services.

This is not standard agency work. You will become part of a structured, clinically governed insourcing programme, supporting planned echocardiography services while helping NHS organisations improve patient access and reduce diagnostic waiting times.

We are seeking experienced Cardiac Physiologists with strong adult echocardiography experience who are confident performing and reporting independent adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) examinations.

We particularly welcome expressions of interest from BSE-accredited Echocardiographers, as well as experienced Cardiac Physiologists with substantial independent adult echocardiography practice.

• Schedule: Weekend sessions initially, with additional weekday opportunities available for future programmes

• Engagement: Sessional, block bookings and longer-term programme opportunities
• Payroll: Monthly
• Additional Information: Structured outpatient and inpatient echocardiography services delivered within established NHS pathways

What You'll Be Doing

• Independently performing adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)
• Producing high-quality echocardiography reports in accordance with local governance requirements
• Working to current BSE standards and recognised best practice
• Supporting outpatient and community diagnostic echocardiography services
• Supporting inpatient echocardiography services where required
• Working within established clinical pathways, governance arrangements and escalation processes
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Supporting efficient patient throughput whilst maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic quality and patient care

What We're Looking For

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Cardiac Physiology or a related discipline
• Recent UK adult echocardiography experience
• Ability to independently perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms
• Strong understanding of BSE standards and minimum dataset requirements
• Experience working within NHS or equivalent UK clinical environments
• Strong communication, multidisciplinary team working and professional standards
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)

Particularly Desirable

• Current British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation
• Extensive independent adult TTE experience
• Experience supporting Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs), acute NHS services or insourcing programmes
• Experience using GE echocardiography systems
• Availability for weekend sessions, ad hoc work, regular insourcing programmes or longer-term clinical opportunities
• Flexibility to travel to programmes across the UK
