Lead Safety & Security Engineer – Birmingham

Package: Up to £42,000 basic salary + Company Car, alongside pension, holiday entitlement, healthcare/wellbeing benefits and ongoing manufacturer training and professional development.

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Safety & Security Engineer to join a growing team in the Birmingham/Midlands region. This is a predominantly service and maintenance-focused position, combining hands-on technical work with responsibility for supporting and mentoring engineers in the field. You’ll work across enterprise-level security systems, providing technical expertise and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

The Role

• Service, maintain and fault-find enterprise CCTV, Access Control and integrated security systems
• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day support to engineers and apprentices
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults across security and networked environments
• Conduct site surveys, technical audits and quality inspections
• Support the service desk with planning, resource allocation and technical issues
• Act as a technical point of contact for customers
• Maintain high standards of H&S, quality and compliance
• Participate in the out-of-hours rota

What We’re Looking For

• Strong service and maintenance experience across CCTV and Access Control
• Experience working with enterprise-level security systems
• Knowledge of platforms such as Gallagher, Genetec, HikCentral and Hanwha
• Good understanding of IP networking, VLANs, switching, routing and fibre
• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting or mentoring other engineers
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• Full UK manual driving licence

Manufacturer certifications including Gallagher or Genetec would be advantageous but aren’t essential.
