SEND Teaching Assistant – Bromley
Are you a compassionate, resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to make a genuine difference to children with SEND and SEMH needs?
Pink Tile Education are currently recruiting for a specialist primary school in the Bromley area seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
This role is particularly suited to someone who is confident managing challenging behaviour, understands the importance of consistency and boundaries, and can think creatively when finding solutions to individual pupil needs.
About the Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs, helping them to access learning while developing their confidence, emotional regulation and social skills.
A significant part of the role will involve positive behaviour management and supporting pupils who may display challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
You will be responsible for:

Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
Supporting children with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs.
Putting appropriate behaviour-management strategies into practice.
Recognising potential triggers and helping to prevent challenging situations.
Responding calmly and appropriately when behaviour escalates.
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and developing positive coping strategies.
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Using initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome barriers to learning.
Maintaining clear, consistent and positive boundaries.
Working closely with teachers and other members of staff to ensure a consistent approach.
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and engagement.
Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs.
The successful candidate will ideally have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
A good understanding of positive behaviour-management techniques.
The confidence to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
A patient, empathetic and nurturing personality.
The ability to establish appropriate boundaries while building positive relationships.
A flexible approach and willingness to adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
A genuine desire to help pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential.

Previous experience in a specialist school, SEND setting, SEMH provision, residential care, youth work or a similar environment would be advantageous. However, candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay & Holiday Pay
The pay stated is inclusive of the additional 12.07% PAYE holiday pay.
