About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic outstanding Catholic school where all can thrive.  We value our staff and want to develop them to the full in a supportive environment. We are looking for a candidate who has a deep passion for Geography, is forward thinking, innovative and committed to achieving excellence in all areas. Geography is on a sharp upward trajectory as a department, with exciting developments taking place within the curriculum. Students study a knowledge-rich curriculum that focuses on key geographical concepts and develops the procedural knowledge required for all students to become excellent geographers. Student outcomes have continually improved, and we are aiming to further capitalise on this with increased numbers at KS4 and KS5. Students develop a greater understanding of the natural and human world through opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, and this is something the successful candidate will play a vital role in moving forward. The Geography department has also taken a leading role in fulfilling the school’s journey towards becoming a Zero Carbon School and this year we hope to gain Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation through the work of our Geography / Eco Club.
