Sr UX Interaction Designer

Job Summary

The Sr UX Interaction Designer is a strategic leader responsible for defining and shaping the future of enterprise product and service experiences within complex industrial environments. You will operate at the intersection of human behavior, data, and business strategy to identify unclear problem spaces, align stakeholders around priorities, define success measures, and turn complex system challenges into actionable design direction across multi-product platforms and business-critical workflows. As a subject matter expert, you will guide cross-functional teams to deliver outcome-driven, scalable solutions, leveraging modern UX practices—including AI-assisted design and research—to accelerate innovation, ensure technical feasibility, and drive measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Design & System Leadership

  • Frame & Solve: Translate abstract, high-stakes problems into clear design roadmaps, principles, and measurable outcomes.

  • Enterprise Systems Thinking: Architect cohesive, scalable solutions across multi-product ecosystems, ensuring individual features align with long-term platform strategy, enterprise standards, and business-critical workflows.

  • Influence & Alignment: Lead business-wide discussions to set the direction of design and user experience. Represent the user’s voice in high-level decision forums, navigating complex stakeholder environments to drive consensus.

  • Mentorship & Design Excellence: Coach designers and cross-functional partners on systems thinking, design quality, and scalable UX practices; strengthen design systems, patterns, and governance frameworks to raise the quality and consistency of the work.

AI-Enabled UX & Innovation

  • Modern Workflow Integration: Define and implement AI-assisted methodologies (e.g., generative AI, design copilots, automated research synthesis) to enhance team productivity and decision-making speed.

  • AI Interaction Design: Establish interaction models for AI systems—including NLQ and chat-based interfaces—that balance automation with user control, transparency, and explainability.

  • Ethics & Trust: Apply rigorous human-AI interaction principles to ensure AI-powered experiences are usable, accessible, and ethically sound.

Design Execution & Research

  • Discovery: Lead comprehensive research efforts to uncover unmet needs, operational inefficiencies, and strategic opportunities.

  • Evidence-Based Design: Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to validate design decisions. Create high-fidelity wireframes and design specifications that communicate complex behaviors clearly to engineering and product teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Outside USA: Extensive experience in Digital Technology and UX Strategy/Design; knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design.

  • USA: Bachelor’s Degree in Design (or related field) with a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in product design or UX, with a proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Expert ability to connect UX efforts directly to business outcomes. Strong capability to synthesize stakeholder feedback and technical constraints into actionable design strategy.

  • AI & Emerging Tech Fluency: Proficiency in integrating AI tools into the design lifecycle. Deep understanding of conversational UX patterns and the human-AI relationship.

  • Execution Excellence: Advanced expertise in modern design tools (e.g., Figma component systems, prototyping tools). Demonstrated ability to move from abstract concepts to production-ready design specifications.

  • Leadership & Advocacy: Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to explain the rationale, benefit, and ROI of design decisions to non-design collaborators. Experience managing ambiguity and maintaining composure in high-stakes environments.
